First and foremost, we are seeking someone with the right attitude, a proactive individual with up-to-date accounting software knowledge and excel skills to manage the financial records and transactions for the business. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience of mainstream accounting packages as well as proven excel skills. Knowledge of Zoho and Xero preferred but not essential.
You will be qualified with a minimum of 2 years’ of accounting experience, whether that is in industry or practice. Payroll experience is a bonus. If you have started doing AAT we will support you to continue this, if not we could look at a training plan once the probation period has ended.
Some of your responsibilities
· Day to day maintenance of the accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and credit control
· Agreeing supplier invoices received to purchases orders and delivery notes
· Assisting the Finance Manager with payroll, commission calculations, monthly supplier payments and reconciliations
· Assisting the Finance Manager with the preparation of the monthly management accounts and maintenance of the cashflow and budget
· Provide general accounting administration including dealing with post, emails, scanning and filing
· Data entry into financial and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
· Supporting the sales team when required
· Providing holiday and sickness cover to facilitate the despatch of goods and liaising with couriers
· General administration as the business requires, including answering phone calls
