Job Summary:
The Cardiac Medical Receptionist is the first point of contact for patients in our cardiovascular practice. This role is responsible for greeting patients, managing front-desk operations, scheduling appointments, handling patient inquiries, and ensuring accurate and timely flow of administrative tasks. The receptionist plays a key role in providing excellent patient service while supporting the clinical team in delivering high-quality cardiovascular care.

Key Responsibilities:
• Greet patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
• Answer incoming phone calls, respond to inquiries, and route calls/messages appropriately.
• Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments, including follow-up visits and procedures.
• Verify insurance information, collect co-pays, and process patient payments.
• Obtain and update patient demographics, insurance, and medical information in the EMR system.
• Ensure completion of required forms and consents prior to appointments.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front desk and waiting area.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to coordinate patient flow and minimize wait times.
• Handle patient medical records requests in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Assist with prior authorizations, referrals, and other administrative tasks as needed.
• Provide clear and compassionate communication to patients regarding practice policies, procedures, and preparation for cardiac testing or procedures.

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework in medical office administration preferred.
• Previous experience as a medical receptionist, preferably in a cardiology or specialty practice.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification processes.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and scheduling systems.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and compassion in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
• Frequent use of computer, telephone, and standard office equipment.

Work Environment:
This position is primarily in a clinical office setting with direct patient interaction and collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
