About the position
Responsibilities
• Assist the Judge in daily activities of the office.
• Perform administrative management and secretarial duties.
• Handle legal and related paralegal tasks as assigned by the Judge.
• Assist in the day-to-day conduct of court business.
• Interact with lawyers and members of the public on behalf of the Judge.
• Maintain a pleasant and positive attitude while representing the Judge's office.
Requirements
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in English.
• Progressively responsible general clerical or secretarial experience.
• Specialized experience as a principal office assistant dealing with law-related matters.
• Education above high school level may substitute for experience.
Nice-to-haves
• A four-year college degree.
• A paralegal certificate.
• Significant legal secretarial, paralegal, or court clerk experience.
• Experience managing an office and exercising independent judgment.
• A Juris Doctor (JD) from a recognized law school.
