Our client, a leading provider of mental health support services, is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Support Worker to join their fully remote team. This crucial role involves providing direct support, guidance, and advocacy for individuals experiencing mental health challenges. You will be instrumental in developing and implementing personalized care plans, facilitating therapeutic activities, and promoting independence and well-being. Working from home, you will connect with clients via various digital platforms, offering consistent and empathetic support.
Key Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one and group support to individuals with diverse mental health needs, primarily through video calls, phone calls, and secure messaging. Develop, implement, and regularly review person-centred support plans in collaboration with clients and relevant stakeholders. Facilitate therapeutic activities and psychoeducational sessions remotely to promote recovery and coping strategies. Monitor clients' progress, well-being, and safety, documenting observations and escalating concerns promptly. Offer emotional support, encouragement, and practical advice to empower clients towards greater independence. Liaise effectively with families, carers, mental health professionals, and other agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to care. Maintain accurate and confidential client records and documentation in line with organisational policies and data protection regulations. Promote mental health awareness and reduce stigma within the community. Support clients in accessing community resources, services, and opportunities. Mentor and guide junior support staff, sharing expertise and best practices. Participate in regular supervision sessions and team meetings (held virtually). Qualifications and Experience: A relevant qualification in Health and Social Care, Mental Health, or a related field (e.g., NVQ Level 3/4, Diploma in Health and Social Care). Significant experience working in a support role within mental health services. A thorough understanding of mental health conditions, recovery models, and therapeutic interventions. Excellent communication, active listening, and empathy skills. Proficiency in using digital communication tools (e.g., Zoom, Teams, secure client portals). Ability to work autonomously and manage your own workload effectively in a remote setting. Strong organisational and time-management skills. Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and best practices. Ability to remain calm and de-escalate challenging situations. A genuine passion for supporting individuals with mental health challenges. Previous experience in a senior or supervisory role is desirable.
