Job Title: Warehouse/Workshop Assistant
Location: Rugby
Job Type: Full time
Salary: £12.50/hr
Job Summary:
We are looking for a reliable and proactive Warehouse/Workshop Assistant to support day-to-day operations within our busy warehouse and workshop environment. This hands-on role involves handling deliveries, dismantling equipment, managing scrap materials, and maintaining an organised, safe, and efficient workspace. You’ll also operate a forklift, deliver equipment, and assist in logging and inspecting incoming goods.
Key Responsibilities:
• Receive and check off incoming deliveries and equipment.
• Inspect items for damage, faults, or missing parts and report accordingly.
• Strip equipment for reusable parts and process scrap collections.
• Operate a forklift safely to move, load, and unload goods.
• Organise and store items efficiently within the warehouse/workshop.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant working environment at all times.
• Prepare and deliver equipment to various sites when required.
• Assist with general workshop duties and support other team members as needed.
• Operate workshop machinery such as plasma cutters, grinders, and hand tools safely and effectively.
• Maintain and clean machinery after use, reporting any faults or required maintenance.
Requirements:
• Previous experience in a warehouse, workshop, or similar environment preferred.
• Valid forklift license/certification required.
• Physically fit and able to lift/move heavy items.
• Basic mechanical or technical aptitude an advantage.
• Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player.
• Full UK driving license (if deliveries are required).
• Experience using workshop tools and machinery (e.g., plasma cutters, grinders, drills).
• Basic understanding of equipment safety and maintenance procedures.
Working Conditions:
• Primarily workshop/warehouse-based with some off-site deliveries.
• Manual handling and use of tools and lifting equipment.
• PPE must be worn in line with company policy and safety regulations
