We are looking for a Business Development Manager to join Aon’s Corporate Risk team in Scotland, helping us grow by identifying, developing and converting new opportunities with corporate and mid-market clients across the country. This is a standout opportunity for someone from financial services, professional services, banking, asset management, consultancy, wider commercial sales or insurance who wants to build a high-profile career with one of the world’s leading professional services firms. This is a hybrid role, giving you the flexibility to split your time between home and either our Glasgow or Edinburgh office. What the day will look likeAs a Business Development Manager within Corporate Risk, you will create and convert new opportunities while positioning Aon as the adviser of choice for organisations looking to protect and grow their business. You will work closely with the Scottish leadership team, client relationship leaders, brokers and specialist practice groups to bring the best of Aon to prospective clients. Key responsibilities will include:Identifying, developing and converting new corporate opportunities across ScotlandBuilding and maintaining a strong pipeline through proactive prospecting, networking, partnerships and referralsDeveloping relationships with senior decision-makers, including CEOs, CFOs, Finance Directors, Risk Managers and business ownersUnderstanding each prospect’s commercial priorities, risk landscape and growth ambitionsPositioning Aon’s full range of risk, insurance, claims, analytics and advisory capabilities in a way that is relevant to each clientLeading and coordinating tenders, proposals and client presentations, bringing in the right Aon specialists at the right timeWorking collaboratively with broking, claims, risk consulting, employee benefits and wider Aon colleagues to deliver compelling client propositionsRepresenting Aon at business, industry and networking events to enhance our visibility across ScotlandNegotiating commercial terms and securing profitable, sustainable new business growthEnsuring all activity is delivered in line with regulatory requirements and Aon’s risk management standards What makes this role differentScotland is home to ambitious businesses, financial institutions, entrepreneurs, global brands, public bodies and fast-growing organisations.
