This policy explains what information this site collects, why, and what you can do about it.
1. Who we are
We operate this jobs directory. For data protection purposes, we are the controller of the personal data described below. Contact details are on our contact page.
2. What we collect
Information you give us
If you contact us, we receive your name, email address and whatever you write in your message. If you apply through a form on this site, we receive the details you enter.
If you sign up for job alerts, we receive your email address and the job title you asked about.
If you claim an applicant rank, we receive your name, your email address, and a LinkedIn profile address if you choose to give one. The LinkedIn field is optional and is never displayed publicly.
Information collected automatically
When you visit, our servers record your IP address, browser type and version, the pages you view, the time of your visit, and the site you arrived from. This is standard web server logging.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep your session working and to remember preferences such as dark mode. Analytics and advertising services, where enabled, set their own cookies. See section 7.
3. What we do not collect
We do not ask for or store CVs, identity documents, salary history, or any special category data such as health information, religion or ethnicity.
Applications made through links to employer sites go directly to that employer. We do not see or store them.
4. Why we use your data
| What we use it for | Our basis |
|---|---|
| Running and securing the site | Legitimate interests |
| Replying to your message | Legitimate interests |
| Sending the job alerts you asked for | Consent |
| Recording an applicant rank you claimed | Consent |
| Letting our team review who has registered interest | Legitimate interests |
| Understanding how the site is used | Consent, where analytics is enabled |
| Showing advertising | Consent, where advertising is enabled |
| Preventing abuse and fraud | Legitimate interests |
About applicant ranks. The details you give when claiming a rank are held on our own system so that our candidate relationship team can see who has registered interest in which employers. They are not sent to the company, not published, and not sold. If you later share a link as part of claiming, we record that the link was opened and by how many people, so the claim can be confirmed. We do not know who those visitors are.
5. How long we keep it
- Server logs: up to 12 months
- Contact messages: up to 24 months after the last exchange
- Job alert sign-ups: until you ask to be removed
- Applicant rank claims: until you ask us to delete them
- Analytics data: as set by the analytics provider
- Cookies: from the end of your session up to 12 months, depending on the cookie
6. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not pass it to the companies listed on this site. Claiming a rank does not send anything to that employer.
We share limited data with service providers who help us run the site: hosting providers, analytics services, and advertising networks where enabled. Each processes data under its own terms.
We may disclose information where we are required to by law, or where it is necessary to protect our rights or the safety of others.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
Essential cookies keep your session active and remember display preferences. The site does not work properly without them.
Analytics cookies help us understand which pages are used and where people run into problems. These are only set where analytics is enabled.
Advertising cookies are set by advertising partners where advertising is enabled, and may be used to show relevant ads.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will affect how the site works.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Ask what personal data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct data that is wrong
- Ask us to delete your data
- Object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it
- Receive your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time, where we relied on consent
- Complain to your data protection authority
To exercise any of these, contact us. We will respond within one month. We may ask you to confirm your identity first.
9. International transfers
Our providers may process data outside your country. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.
10. Children
This site is intended for people of working age and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Other sites
Job listings link to external websites. Once you follow a link, this policy no longer applies. Read the privacy policy of any site you share information with.
12. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect data, including encrypted connections and restricted administrative access. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. Changes
We will post any changes to this policy on this page and update the date at the top. Material changes will be flagged more prominently.
14. Contact
Questions about this policy, or requests relating to your data, can be sent through our contact page.
