Job Location SKELMERSDALE DC Job Description Procter & Gamble (P&G) are a leading company in the manufacture of Fast-Moving Consumer Goods making some of the world’s best loved brands like Gillette, Fairy, and Oral-B. We are seeking a dedicated and reliable HGV Driver to transport goods efficiently and safely across various locations, ensuring timely deliveries and adherence to all road safety regulations. The role is based on any 4 shifts from 7, primarily between Monday and Friday, with some flexibility required for weekend coverage when needed. Shift start times are typically between 01:00am and 06:00am. Key ResponsibilitiesOperate Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) safely and in compliance with all relevant traffic laws and company policies.Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or issues promptly.Load and unload goods, ensuring proper securing and handling to prevent damage during transit.Plan and optimize delivery routes to meet schedules and minimize fuel consumption.Maintain accurate delivery logs, vehicle records, and other necessary paperwork.Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse staff, and customers regarding delivery status or any unexpected delays.Adhere to strict health and safety procedures at all times.Represent P&G professionally during all interactions. Job Qualifications The ideal candidate will have:Valid UK HGV Class 1 driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points and no Dangerous Driving (DD) or Drink Driving (DR) endorsements.Valid Driver Qualification Card (DQC) / CPC.Proven experience as an HGV driver, preferably within a logistics or supply chain environment.Excellent knowledge of driving regulations, tachograph rules, and road safety procedures.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks and prolonged driving.A strong commitment to safety and customer servicePreferably: references from previous employers Right to Work For this role, you will need to provide your own, continuous (i.e. not time limited) right to work in the UK from Day 1 of employment without requiring sponsorship from P&G.
