As our practice continues to grow, we're looking for a qualified accountant to join our close-knit team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working directly with clients, taking ownership of their portfolio, and making a real impact within a growing practice.
We anticipate the role will be 25–40 hours per week, with the exact hours agreed with the successful candidate. We offer flexibility around working hours between 8:30am and 5:00pm, with hybrid working available following a successful probationary period.
The Role
You'll manage a varied portfolio of clients, providing a proactive and personal service while supporting the wider team.
Your responsibilities will include:
Preparing statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.Preparing personal, partnership and corporation tax returns.Reviewing VAT returns and bookkeeping prepared using cloud accounting software, primarily Xero.Advising clients and responding to day-to-day accounting and tax queries.Building strong client relationships through meetings and regular communication.Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team.Identifying opportunities to improve client processes and add value.Assisting with other practice work as required.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
Is ACA, ACCA, AAT or equivalent qualified.Has a minimum of 3 years' recent experience working within a UK accountancy practice (essential).Is confident preparing accounts and tax returns independently.Has experience managing a portfolio of clients and building strong client relationships.Is proficient with cloud accounting software, ideally Xero, and Microsoft Excel.Is organised, proactive and able to manage multiple deadlines.Has excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail and a commitment to outstanding client service.Can work from our Ludgershall office, with hybrid working available after probation.
