About the role
We are seeking a dynamic Part Time Logistics Manager to oversee and optimise our supply chain operations. In this role, you will manage the drivers and coordinate transportation and warehouse activities to ensure seamless delivery and distribution processes. Your proactive approach will help improve efficiency and support our commitment to delivering exceptional service to our customers. This hands on role requires someone who enjoys working with people, solving problems and continuously improving the way we operate.
This part time position is for 25 hours per week Monday – Friday 07.00 – 12.00 (fixed) and whilst desirable if you do not have the Transport Manager CPC qualification we would fund this as part of your continuous professional development.
Key Responsibilities
Managing a team of five driversPlanning and coordinating daily delivery routes.Ensuring compliance with Drivers' Hours Regulations and Working Time Directive requirements.Monitoring tachograph data and driver infringements.Managing vehicle inspections, servicing and preventative maintenance schedules.Coordinating MOTs, repairs and statutory vehicle inspections.Monitoring telematics and vehicle performance.Maintaining fleet compliance documentation.Supporting vehicle defect reporting and corrective actions.Working closely with production and customer service teams to ensure efficient delivery schedules.Managing the company's transport compliance systems and records.Current Fleet Includes
1 x HGV4 x Tachograph-equipped vehicles3 x Company VansForklift TrucksDesirable
· Manufacturing or Glass Industry experience
Previous experience of managing a team
· Previous transport or logistics experience
· Knowledge of Tachograph systems
· Knowledge of Drivers' Hours Regulations
