Logistics Manager
Typically working 3 days on-site across Corby, Northampton and Sheffield so must be within commutable distance to these locations
About the role:
Reporting to the 3PL Contract Manager, the Logistics Manager will work collaboratively with all areas of the UK Operations Team and external 3PLs to support the delivery of an outstanding level of service at the optimum cost.
ResponsibilitiesWorking with 3PL Contract Manager and Inbound, Planning and Order management Functions monitor storage utilisation across the warehouses to ensure good product placement for outbound deliveriesDeliver strategic and transformational projects in a fast-moving and highly demanding environmentWorking with the UK and NA Inventory teams to support improvements in inventory management inc. damages and rebox activitiesCollaborate with the NPD Rework coordinator to review CSR’s and SOP’s on an ongoing basis to support process and service improvementsSupport the production and review of KPI’s across all areas, inc. distribution and financeUse project management methodology (Prince II or equivalent) to deliver initiatives and projects on timeBuild relationships with stakeholders and collaborate with other functional areas of the business to drive transformational change and embed new ways of working (processes, governance, culture)Manage the logistics projects related and not limited to: opening new warehouses, service provider selection, tender and benchmarking exercises, IT implementations, cost reduction initiativesUnderstand business requirements, deliver logistics solutions in a cost-effective and high-quality mannerBe the key point of contact for all logistics issues related to new project and initiative launches, escalating to the 3PL contract manager when requiredTransform the project from initiative to BAU handing over to the 3PL contract managerWork collaboratively with third-party logistics partners to ensure great service levels and best cost especially during implementation and go live phaseDefine the critical path and key milestones to ensure initiatives and projects are delivered on time, provide clear communication to all stakeholders on progressIdentify risks and provide mitigation plans to avoid theseAnalyse the data, and evaluate performance metrics to ensure quality delivery and cost-efficient workflow processes and to identify trends and opportunities for improvementSome of the skills and experience you\'ll bringPreparing tenders, tender processes, negotiation and data analysisIdentifying cost saving initiativesContract managementManaging 3PLs or working within warehouse operations, parcel carrier and transport knowledgeStrong project management (Prince 2 or equivalent) and stakeholders management skillsProven track record of leading teams in a logistical environment and working in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation and improvement is part of our cultureKnowledge of B2B and D2C logistics marketplace as a whole is desirableKnowledge of Warehouse and Transport OperationsCommitment to learning and expanding professional and technical knowledgeNumerate with seasoned analytical and quantitative skills and ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business casesAbility to clearly communicate data insights to othersWillingness to be hands-on and flexible with the workloadAbility to understand the product, our business, and the competitive landscapeBe agile, enthusiastic, and curiousOur Culture
