Kitchen Porter/Kitchen Assistant

Overview We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy hospitality team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen, supporting chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations. Previous kitchen or hospitality experience is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided. Responsibilities Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, and pans efficientlyAssisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervisionEnsuring the cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipmentSupporting the safe storage of ingredients and suppliesMaintaining organisation of the kitchen area to meet health and safety standardsAssisting with waste disposal and recycling proceduresSupporting front-of-house staff with serving duties when requiredAdhering to all health and safety regulations within the kitchen environmentSkills Basic food preparation and cooking skills are desirable but not essentialPrevious experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is advantageousGood organisational skills with attention to cleanliness and hygiene standardsAbility to work efficiently both independently and as part of a teamFlexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings and weekends if necessaryStrong communication skills and a positive attitude towards learning new skillsKnowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to food service environmentsThis role provides valuable experience within the hospitality industry, offering opportunities for career development in food service, culinary arts, or hotel management.
