Graduate Data Analyst (Water Networks & Demand Management) Location Hybrid working – Home, Office (Chessington) and Client Offices Salary £30,000 starting salary. We will review salary and progression following successful completion of the probation period, based on performance, development and contribution. About Dayworth Consulting Dayworth Consulting is a specialist water industry consultancy focused on water loss management, network optimisation and smart metering. The Role This role is ideal for a recent STEM graduate who wants to develop a career in data analysis and water network performance. You will support project delivery across the business, helping us grow our leakage management, network optimisation and smart metering services. You will work alongside experienced consultants to analyse data, develop technical skills, support project management activities and contribute to client deliverables. You will help analyse leakage, network and smart metering data to identify where water is being lost, how networks are performing and where water companies can improve operations. This is an opportunity to use data and analytical thinking to help solve one of the UK water sector’s most important challenges: reducing leakage, better managing demand and making better use of increasingly scarce water resources. This is a development role with a career progression pathway to a more experienced role over time. Key Responsibilities In your first year, you will be supported to: Analyse leakage, operational, network and smart metering datasets.Identify trends, anomalies and opportunities for improvement in water network performance.Develop your understanding of water distribution networks and the water sector regulatory environment.Support leakage management projects and network optimisation studies.Learn and use tools such as Excel, Microsoft 365, GIS and other analytical software.Attend client meetings and workshops with senior colleagues.Support day-to-day project coordination.Contribute to internal tools, templates and ways of working.Support senior colleagues with analysis, research and technical investigations. What We're Looking For Essential We are looking for someone who has: A degree in a STEM subject, such as Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, Geography, Environmental Science, Physics or another relevant analytical or technical subject.Strong problem-solving skills.Experience in data analysis.Good Excel skills.Good written and verbal communication skills.Strong attention to detail.Curiosity and a willingness to learn.The ability to work independently and as part of a small team.A proactive approach to asking questions and seeking feedback.Applicants must have the right to work in the UK without requiring employer sponsorship. Desirable Knowledge of the UK water industry.Experience using GIS software.Understanding of hydraulic modelling principles.Experience working with large datasets.Familiarity with data visualisation and reporting tools.A full UK driving licence.
