Clemson University: College of Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences: Plant & Environmental Sciences Location POOLE AGRICULTURAL CENTER (P&A)(000040) BLDG000040 FL01 RM171 Open Date Aug 17, 2026 Description Masters or PhD in Plant and Environmental Sciences Application Instructions Position Description The Department of Plant and Environmental Sciences (PES) at Clemson University invites applications for a Lecturer position to begin August 2026. This is a part-time, non-tenure-track appointment focused on undergraduate instruction in experiential learning, curriculum innovation, and student success. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team of educators dedicated to excellence in teaching, student engagement, and experiential learning in horticulture while advancing Clemson Elevate’s strategic pillar of delivering the No. 1 student experience. This position is integral to the majors the department serves, helping prepare graduates to address emerging challenges in sustainable horticulture, environmental stewardship, and the green industry. Responsibilities Provide high-impact undergraduate instruction in four courses: Sustainable landscapes, Greenhouse Production, Hydroponics, and Capstone.Develop and deliver engaging, student-centered courses that use evidence-based, active-learning strategies that incorporate field and lab-based experiences and real-world problem-solving. Qualifications Required: Master’s degree in Horticulture or a closely related field. Rank and Salary This is a temporary, non-tenure-track position at the Lecturer rank. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience, and a competitive benefits package is included.
