Salary £40,777- £46,142 Per annum | Permanent, Full Time, 37 hours per week | Preston, Lancashire, United Kingdom Management Accountant We're looking for a dynamic and innovative Management Accountant to work within the Financial Management function here at Lancashire County Council The role will involve monitoring various budgets & forecasting for a range of schools' services. You'll regularly report and feedback to both internal and external stakeholders enabling the relevant functions to make effective decisions and allocate funding accordingly where it is needed most. About You You'll be an experienced Accountant, ideally with similar experience in a complex and large grant-funded and led organisation. You'll have an excellent understanding of the relevant professional, statutory and corporate frameworks relevant to such a role You'll be innovative and proactive in making improvements and implementing changes. You'll have strong Excel skills together with the ability to navigate accounting systems and ICT applications. Ideally you'll have solid experience of multiple year-end budget management alongside subsequent reporting requirements. Ideally you have previous knowledge and experience of Dedicated School Grant (DSG) requirements. You'll be a confident communicator, who is able to build strong working relationships with key stakeholders. You'll have a flexible approach and the ability to plan and prioritise competing workload demands to adapt quickly to changing priorities. You'll ideally be degree qualified in a relevant subject alongside part or fully CCAB qualified, AAT qualified, or qualified by experience About Us At Lancashire County Council, we're committed to delivering services that make a real difference to the people and communities we serve. Local Government Reorganisation The Government has confirmed that local government across Lancashire will be reorganised, with the current 15 councils being replaced by four new unitary councils covering North, South, East and West Lancashire from April 2028. If you are successful in your application, you will initially join Lancashire County Council. However, as part of the planned transition, your employment will transfer to one of the new unitary councils from April 2028, subject to the implementation of the reorganisation and relevant employment legislation. Throughout this period, our focus remains on delivering excellent services to our communities.
