Bookkeeper – Accounts Assistant | Sashi Retail Ltd Location: London, UK Job Type: Full-time, On-site About Sashi Retail Ltd Sashi Retail Ltd is a forecourt retail operator working in partnership with Motor Fuel Group (MFG) and Londis, providing fuel and convenience retail services to local communities. Our sites operate seven days a week and provide customers with fuel, groceries, snacks, beverages and everyday essentials. As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a Bookkeeper – Accounts Assistant to support our day-to-day financial and accounting activities. About the Role We are looking for a detail-oriented and organised Bookkeeper – Accounts Assistant to maintain accurate financial records and support the company's accounting operations. The successful candidate will work closely with management, suppliers and external accounting partners to ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and accounts-related processes are completed efficiently and on time. Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate bookkeeping records, ledgers and financial documentation. Record and process purchase and sales invoices. Reconcile bank statements, card transactions and other financial records. Maintain and reconcile petty cash records. Record daily sales, expenses and other business transactions. Assist with supplier account reconciliations and payment queries. Support credit control and monitor outstanding balances. Assist with preparation of basic financial and management reports. Maintain accurate records for VAT and other accounting requirements. Liaise with suppliers, accountants and other external partners regarding financial queries. Assist with month-end and year-end accounting activities. Ensure accounting records are maintained in accordance with company procedures. Provide financial information and administrative support to management when required. About You We are looking for someone who has: Previous experience in bookkeeping, accounts assistance or a similar finance role. Good understanding of accounting principles and financial record keeping. Experience with bank and account reconciliations. Knowledge of purchase and sales ledgers. Experience handling petty cash and financial transactions. Understanding of credit control and supplier account management. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software. Strong numerical and analytical skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Good communication and organisational skills. Ability to work independently while also supporting the wider management team. Experience within retail, convenience stores, hospitality or a similar fast-paced environment would be advantageous.
