£70,000–£90,000 DOE | Permanent | Full-time/Flexi-time

A growing regional law firm is looking for a commercially minded solicitor to establish and lead a new Employment Law department. You will have genuine autonomy to shape the service, develop its client base, recruit your future team and influence the wider direction of the firm.

The role
You will combine a personal caseload with responsibility for developing a successful and profitable employment practice. Your work will include:
Advising employers and employees on contentious and non-contentious mattersManaging employment disputes, advisory work and tribunal-related mattersBuilding relationships with local businesses, referrers and professional contactsDeveloping the department’s strategy, profile and service offeringRecruiting, supervising and mentoring team members as the practice growsIdentifying cross-referral opportunities across the wider firmManaging departmental performance, billing and profitability
You
You will be a solicitor authorised to practise in England and Wales, ideally with 6–10+ years’ PQE, although applications are welcomed from anyone who can demonstrate the necessary experience.
You should also have:
Strong technical employment law knowledgeCommercial awareness and an appetite for business developmentThe confidence to lead from the frontExcellent client-management and communication skillsPrevious supervisory or management experience, ideallyAn established following or referral network would be welcomed and rewarded
