Show Operator Assistant Automation - Theater Operations

About Wynn Al Marjan Island: Wynn Al Marjan Island will be the first integrated resort in the UAE. About the Position: Wynn Al Marjan Island is currently seeking a Show Operator Assistant Automation - Theater Operations to join the resort’s Theater Operations team. The primary duties and responsibilities of this role are: * Assist the Head Automation – Theater Operations with supervising the department staff and with hiring and training new employees. * Assist with managing and documenting all required staff training. * Assist with staff scheduling and timekeeping. * Assist with ordering supplies and with keeping an inventory of all consumables. * Assist the Head of Department with establishing and maintaining the safe and consistent operations of all automation and Comms systems for each rehearsal and performance. * Assist with operating the automated stage systems, and fluid hydraulic systems by programming and operating the Comms consoles.  * Assist with the operations of and troubleshooting of the automation and Comms systems during performances and rehearsals. * Assist with installing, assembling, hanging, and repairing automation mechanisms and automated show elements. * Assist with creating an atmosphere that maximizes productivity and minimizes costs. * Work with the Resident Director on required changes and ongoing development of the show.  * Reprogram automation systems as required. * Support the performers at all times by assisting and guiding their interaction with all show elements and technical staff. * Provide cost effective solutions to automation and Comms issues that maintain show quality and maximize return on investment. * Assist in maintaining training and backup plans to assure continuity in performance operations of the department.  * Assist with monitoring all automation and Comms systems and provide adequate oversight and supervision to maintain a safe environment. * Assist with overseeing the emergency procedures for show systems with Stage Management and the technical team; ensure all department staff is trained and familiar with these procedures. About You: The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications: * Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. * Minimum of five (5) years’ experience as an Assistant Head of Automation for large-scale theatrical or production show.  * Experience with a wide variety of modern theatrical automation and Comms systems as it pertains to installation, use and troubleshooting. * Experience with a wide variety of modern fluid power equipment such as hydraulic valves, and pumps as it pertains to installation, use and troubleshooting. * Experience with flying effects with artists and theatrical rigging. * Experience with electronics, conduit, battery packs, wire terminals, sensors, networks and Comms boards. * Experience and knowledge of automation, fluid systems & hardware. * Prior experience working with Navigator preferred. * Must be able to manage staff and perform under pressure as well as manage logistics.
