Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated nurse leader to join our Acute Medical Unit as a substantive Band 7 Ward Manager. You will lead a dynamic 37-41 bedded ward delivering high-quality care to acutely unwell patients admitted directly from the Emergency Department. This is a fast-paced, rewarding environment where strong clinical leadership, decision-making, and a passion for patient flow are essential. As Ward Manager, you will play a key role in driving standards of care, supporting and developing staff, and ensuring safe, effective, and compassionate care delivery. You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to enhance patient experience, improve flow, and contribute to ongoing service development within acute medicine. Main duties of the job Act as role model, mentor and preceptor to the ward nursing team Ensure delivery of the Trusts Nursing Strategy at ward level Conduct oneself in accordance with the NMC Code of Conduct and Trust policies Responsible for nursing team adherence to Trust policies, procedures, guidelines and standards.
