Our People HR Manager is responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the People function, ensuring employees and managers receive exceptional support throughout the employee lifecycle. The role leads the People Support team, oversees HR operations and workplace management, and plays a key role in fostering a positive, engaging and high-performing culture.
Working closely with the Head of People, the role translates people strategy into practical delivery, ensuring efficient processes, compliance, employee engagement and making Albatross a great place to be.

This is a full-time role, initially based in our head office in Larkfield. Normal hours of work are Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm (35 hours a week).
Key Responsibilities
Accountable for the effective day-to-day delivery of People services, ensuring processes, systems and administration are efficient, compliant and provide a positive experience for employees and managers.Support the delivery of initiatives that enhance employee engagement, wellbeing and culture, helping to create an environment where people can thrive and perform at their best.Provide expert advice and support on employee relations matters, ensuring consistent application of policies, compliance with employment legislation.Lead, support and develop the team, ensuring high-quality service delivery and continuous improvement across the People Support Team.Oversee workplace operations and office management activities, ensuring offices are safe, welcoming, compliant and support the needs of employees and the wider business.Support the delivery of the People Plan through implementation of projects, process improvements and people initiative that contribute to the Group Ambition.Manage the People Team budget, maintaining cost-effective solutions that align with business needs.Support the implementation and delivery of all company events.Hold monthly 1:1s with direct reports and ensure managers across the team do the same to a consistent standard.Leads by example, rolling up their sleeves and doing whatever is needed to support the team, workplace and employee experience.Live, breathe, advocate and hold colleagues accountable to The Albatross Way, our values of professional, human and win-win.An active member of the Line Management Team and an effective accountability buddy.Please note that this list is not exhaustive and at times the job role may be altered to help others complete their duties.
Key Skills
Essential
HR generalist with a sound understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice.Experience managing employee relations matters and providing pragmatic advice to managers.Experience leading or supervising others.Ability to build effective working relationships and communicate confidently with stakeholders at all levels.Experience using HR systems and maintaining accurate people data and reporting.Pro-active and self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously.Desirable
CIPD qualification (Level 5) or equivalent experience.Experience supporting workplace, office or facilities management activities.Knowledge of the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.Please note that this list is not exhaustive
