In our unique Visioneering Process, we use the Merlin, or backcasting, process to help individuals, teams and organizations get from where they find themselves today, in their current reality, to where they want to be. Backcasting starts with defining a desirable future and then working backwards to identify landmarks, benchmarks, milestones, accomplishments, events, tasks, and programs that will connect the future to the present. The fundamental question of backcasting asks: “If we want to attain a certain future, which accomplishments must be achieved to get there?”
