Job Title: Finance Specialist Company: H&R Block Location: Remote, United States (Missouri) Employment Type: Full Time Salary: $18.41 – $27.64 per hour Candidate Requirements: High School Diploma or Equivalent (College Degree in Accounting/Finance Preferred) | Basic Accounting & General Ledger Knowledge | MS Excel Proficiency | Understanding of Banking Operations/ACH Processes | SQL Experience an Advantage Job Summary H&R Block is recruiting a Finance Specialist to support daily financial operations, transactional processing, and client product services (including ACH deposits, loan products, prepaid accounts, and savings programs) in a remote environment. The role focuses on processing financial entries, executing general ledger reconciliations, resolving account discrepancies, and managing escalated client inquiries across banking platforms. Role Overview Enter daily financial transactions and account updates into core accounting platforms. Process incoming ACH deposits, handle account maintenance updates, and clear financial exception items. Perform daily general ledger balancing and execute routine account reconciliations. Research, troubleshoot, and resolve unmatched financial items and client inquiries. Draft and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance operational workflows. Address escalated customer service queries while upholding strict confidentiality of client financial data. Skills & Experience Required Education & Background: High School Diploma or equivalent; a college degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience) is preferred. Technical Mastery: Working knowledge of MS Excel, multi-platform web tools, general ledger accounting, ACH/banking regulations, and basic SQL query execution (preferred). Core Competencies: Financial data entry, account reconciliation, analytical problem-solving, operational compliance, and professional written/verbal communication.
