The Dietitian is responsible for contributing to the smooth running of inpatient
and outpatient dietetic services across the hospital and its satellite clinics,
while maintaining professional accountability for their own caseload in a range
of settings, including patient homes when required. The role involves assessing
nutritional needs, dietary restrictions, and health plans to design and
implement evidence-based care plans, offering counseling and education to
individuals and groups to enhance quality of life. The Dietitian also
collaborates closely with catering services to ensure that patients’ clinical
nutrition needs are consistently met, oversees food service operations to
maintain nutritional, safety, sanitation, and quality standards, and contributes
to recipe development, menu planning, and quality inspection of meals. With a
compassionate and patient-centered approach, the Dietitian supports patients and
carers in achieving health goals, promoting social inclusion and well-being, and
ensuring a positive image of the Dietetic Service and the organization at all
times.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical Responsibilities
* Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the needs of patients on an ongoing
basis in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
* Be accountable for a designated caseload.
* Undertake dietetic assessments and provide evidence-based and best practice
dietetic interventions.
* Assess and manage risk effectively in clinical and community settings,
including patients’ own homes.
* Liaise effectively with all members of the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to
ensure patient needs are met and services are delivered in accordance with
Dubai Health Authority (DHA) care guidelines.
* Develop and implement individual and/or group dietetic interventions, in
collaboration with patients and the MDT, to achieve therapeutic goals.
* Monitor and evaluate treatment to measure progress and modify dietary
intervention plans for effectiveness.
* Provide reports on patient progress at clinical meetings and participate in
multidisciplinary decision-making.
* Undertake health promotion activities.
* Advise on food provision in inpatient settings.
* Report adverse incidents in line with organisational policy and participate
in the investigation process.
* Develop and maintain hospital catering standards and ensure compliance.
Patient Contact & Education
* Support patients, caretakers, and relatives, involving them in care where
appropriate, and provide health education as required.
* Engage patients in dietetic-related tasks and encourage them compassionately
to achieve identified goals.
* Provide advice, education, and training to patients, carers, and healthcare
staff involved in patient care.
* Represent the dietetic profession in team meetings and working groups.
* Promote the dietetic service to the wider population.
* Take responsibility for recognising signs of potential harm, abuse, or
neglect, reporting concerns promptly and safeguarding children at risk.

QUALIFICATIONS
1. Education & Qualifications
* UAE Medical Health Authority License (DHA).
* Bachelors in Bachelor of Science in Dietetics or
1. Bachelor’s degree in Health Science with a major in Nutrition (Please see
table below) And Post-graduate diploma or master in Dietetics

* Has worked within an appropriate service environment within the last 2 years.

* Resuscitation Certificate as per the specialty& Demonstrable ongoing and
active Continues Personal Development (CPD)
